Dale Pennington

Dale Pennington

Managing Director, Executive Consultant

A leading mind in the AMI and smart grid field, Dale Pennington has over 30 years of experience leading utility projects working with emerging technologies. His extensive knowledge of the industry allows him to guide utilities toward maximizing the value of their assets and technology investments, through proven workflow and management techniques.

Before founding UtiliWorks in 2005, Dale served as Executive Vice President for P.I./Dwights Petroconsultants. Prior to that, he worked as a geophysicist at both Schlumberger and ARCO Exploration. Today he serves as UtiliWorks’ Managing Director and business and technology solutions architect, while providing executive oversight for all UtiliWorks engagements. Dale holds B.A. and B.S. degrees from Long Island University in Geology/American Studies and Marine Science/Political Science, respectively, as well as a Master’s in geophysics from Adelphi University.


 

Kody Salem

Kody Salem

Principal

Kody Salem is currently a Principal with UtiliWorks Consulting. A strong background in radio frequency, instrumentation, and controls technologies, coupled with more than 25 years of technical operations and management experience, allow Kody to provide outstanding support for utility technology initiatives such as Smart Grid/AMI and SCADA systems. He excels in understanding complex technical systems and effectively communicating their potential to positively impact engineering and operations, to both persons with technical expertise and members of the general public.

As a Shift Technical Engineer and Operator-in-Charge at a Department of Energy facility he learned to lead non-technical personnel through the performance of many complicated projects and daily operations tasks. Mr. Salem brings these skills to lead his team of consultants, providing the necessary guidance to deliver valuable services for their clients’ projects. Kody received a B.A. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.
